Simulating the Human Gut: A novel fibrous-bed bio-reactor

A computational model of an in-situ fibrous-bed hydrogel bioreactor for simulating the gut microbiome, alongside a review of the bi-directional interactions between rosuvastatin and gut microbiota. Co-authored with Tina Gunasekara.

Bioreactor Report

Final report, OENG1168 Engineering Capstone Part B, RMIT University. 79 pages. Oxygen diffusion through stratified hydrogel layers solved by a Crank-Nicholson scheme with an upwind discretisation and a bacterial consumption term, written in MATLAB. Supervised by Dr Srinivas Mettu, Dr Namita Choudhury and Dr Qiang Sun. Open in full
